I wanted to create a Victorian mourning costume but thought sorrow would be so much easier to endure if one was attired with a certain chic. The intricate design of this mourning costume was developed with a combination of antique materials and jet bead work taken from remnants of antique mourning costumes found though out my travels.

Wood, cotton cloth, acrylic paint, chalk sticks, mohair, antique glass jet beads, silk faille, lace, silk fringe, velvet, brocade , kid leather.
